PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A major improvement project for the MAX will affect service in the Lloyd neighborhood this summer.
Crews will start work on July 29 and service on red, green and blue lines will be disrupted from August 4 through August 17.
During that 2-week window, there will be fewer trains running and no trains running between N. Interstate Avenue and the Lloyd Center Station. The Rose Quarter, Convention Center and NE 7th Ave. stations will all be closed. A temporary bus shuttle will connect the closures.
TriMet is encouraging people to plan for an extra 30-45 minutes for their trip.
TriMet said the improvements will help keep trains running on time, increase resiliency and create a smoother ride.
