PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man who called in a bomb threat near the Oregon Zoo was taken into custody Friday evening.

Portland police said the man used an emergency call box at the Washington Square MAX station and said he had a bomb.

The suspect, Benjamin Green was found in the parking lot outside and taken into custody. The 37-year-old faces charges of disorderly conduct and interfering with public transportation.

Officers cleared the area and found his bag, which the Explosives Disposal Unit is inspecting.

The MAX stop was closed and red and blue MAX lines were delayed but police determined there is no device there so service resumed.
