PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A student was questioned by Portland police after officers said he brought a realistic-looking fake gun to school on Halloween.

Officers were called to Madison High School’s Marshall Campus just before noon on Thursday about a student who had a gun concealed in his waistband.

The student was taken into custody and officers found a replica handgun hidden under his clothes, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

He was questioned by officers and released to his parents. Officers said there was no ongoing threat to the school.
