2-alarm fire damages Tualatin strip mall

Washington County

TUALATIN, Ore. (KOIN) — A two-alarm fire heavily damaged a strip mall in Tualatin early Wednesday.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue said the fire broke out near I-5 and Nyberg Street shortly before 1 a.m.

According to crews, the fire started in the convenience store of the 76 Gas Station. The business was closed at the time, so officials said there wasn’t a threat of the fire reaching the fuel pumps.

The fire was under control within an hour and a half and isolated to the convenience store. However, at least 10 adjoining businesses have some smoke damage.

No one was injured in the fire.

The cause is unknown, but a fire investigator is on scene.
