PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man trapped underneath an oak tree being cut down along Old Highway 47 in Forest Grove was freed and airlifted to a hospital for treatment Monday, authorities tweeted.
The oak tree, about 2 feet in diameter, fell on top of the man’s legs.
The man was trapped for 30 to 40 minutes, officials with Forest Grove Fire told KOIN 6 News. Emergency responders needed about 25 minutes to get him out by digging around the tree to free his legs and then using lift jacks to move the tree.
Life Flight took the man to an area trauma hospital. His condition was not released.
