Power outage in Tigard delayed schools

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — More than 3,000 Portland General Electric customers were in the dark Tuesday morning due to power outages.

According to the PGE outage map, at one point 4800 customers were affected by four outages.

Officials said they believe an Oak tree branch fell onto the arm of a power pole and brought down a wire.

Tigard High School, Twality Middle School and Templeton Elementary are delayed two hours due to the outages.

The City Hall complex was also without power and employees were asked to report to work at 11 a.m.

PGE restored power by mid-morning.
