Sketch released of Walmart luring suspect

Washington County

Incident happened around 2:40 p.m. on July 6

BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — A white man in his 60s or 70s with wrinkles, scruffy facial hair and a tattoo on his upper left arm is being sought by Beaverton police for an incident that was reported July 6.

That day, an 11-year-old girl with a dog was waiting for her mom outside the store around 2:30 p.m. when the man drove up and asked her to come closer so he could see her dog and pet it.

“He asked her 2 times to get into the truck. She said no,” said Beaverton PD Sgt. Kevin McDonald. “She was assertive. She found an adult exiting the store and told what was going on.”

A composite sketch of the man was made and released on July 19 along with surveillance photos of the red truck — a mid-1990s Dodge Dakot club cab with Oregon license plates. There was shelving in the back of the cab, there is a dent in the driver’s door and spots of rust on the driver’s side, officials said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Maggie Brown at 503.526.2538 or the non-emergency line at 503.629.0111.
