PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The NW Natural Street of Dreams in Hillsboro this year showcased the normal big homes and mansions, but it was the tiniest home that was creating a buzz.
“The tiny home was something,” said Gerald Rowlett with the Westlake Development Group.
Rowlett said the idea of the tiny home was bringing something to the usual lineup of big homes. The end goal of the home also falls in line with the Street of Dreams’ goal. Each year the Street of Dreams opens the doors of homes for veterans to tour for free. They also get to enjoy music and lunch.
The tiny home will also go to helping veterans. It’ll be auctioned off and the proceeds will go toward veteran communities.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing if we could do good in the community,” Rowlett said.
Rowlett said the starting bid for the tiny home will be $79,000, but they hope the bids exceed $100,000.
Even though it’s tiny, Rowlett said it fits in with the rest of the top-of-the-line homes.
“If you’ve seen the inside of it … it’s definitely street of dreams worthy,” Rowlett said.
