Gonzalo Valerio-Hernandez died 4 days after he was hit by a car

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Friends and family of a Hillsboro man killed in a hit-and-run gathered Sunday night to remember him and keep the search for his killer alive.

Gonzalo Valerio-Hernandez, 49, died on July 25 after he was hit by a car while walking across Southeast 10th Avenue near Southeast Walnut Street in Hillsboro.

His mother was unable to attend the vigil because she lives in a small town in Mexico and couldn’t get a visa to visit.

Hillsboro police said the driver was in a metallic grey recent model Toyota Corolla that may have damage to the left front bumper or driver side mirror.
