Residents escape 2 separate Albany house fires


Both fires are under investigation to determine their cause

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two separate house fires were reported in Albany throughout Sunday night and Monday morning.

The Albany Fire Department first responded to a house fire around 5:45 p.m. at 1027 Southeast 7th Avenue. When the crews arrived at the scene, the entire house was engulfed in flames.

Everyone was able to safely evacuate the home except for a pet dog who did not survive the fire.

The next fire was called in around 6 a.m. on Monday morning. It was located at 2225 Southeast Salem Avenue.

Firefighters quickly had it under control and no one was injured. Homeowners were not around at the time of the fire.

Both fires remain under investigation to determine what caused them.
