2 killed when motorcyclists hit BMW in Vancouver

One motorcyclist, BMW driver died at the scene

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) — Two people died and 2 others were injured when motorcycles slammed into a BMW shortly before midnight in Vancouver, police said.

The driver of a BMW was turning left from NE 187th onto 18th Street when 2 sport motorcycles crashed into the driver’s door, officials said. The BMW driver, 50-year-old Renee Unell, and one of the motorcyclists, 23-year-old Matthew Stevens, died at the scene.

An 8-year-old in the BMW and the other motorcyclist were both taken to area hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Investigators continue to look into the cause of the crash but believe speed and alcohol were factors.
