21-year-old killed in Lents shooting


PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A death investigation is underway after a man died in the Lents neighborhood late Sunday night.

On Tuesday, police identified 21-year-old Izryl Johnson as the man who was killed. 

Portland police said officers responded to the 4000 block of Southeast 94th Avenue shortly before midnight after multiple people reported hearing gunfire.

When officers arrived in the area, they found an injured man, later identified as Johnson, lying in the street. They provided him first aid until emergency medical responders got to the scene. However, as they were treating the man, they determined he was dead. 

Officers searched the area for suspects involved in the shooting, but didn’t find any.

Police added that there doesn’t appear to be any danger to the community.
