Fire crews were called to the Brightwaters at Redhawk apartments on SW 108th Avenue

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Three people are safe after being rescued from an apartment fire Tuesday afternoon in Tigard, officials said.

The fire started in the living room of a first-floor unit at the Brightwaters at Redhawk apartments in the 16000 block of Southwest 108th Avenue, according to Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue.

Three people were rescued from the balcony of a 2nd-floor unit just before 2 p.m. and the blaze was quickly extinguished.

No one was hurt.

Firefighters said 2 people and a dog were displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
