PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A shop fire in Vancouver extended into a 2-story house in the early hours of Sunday, forcing 6 people to flee the house.
Shortly before 2 a.m., the Vancouver Fire Department said they rushed to the blaze at 15505 NE 83rd. When they got there, they found the shop fire was fully involved and spreading to the single-family home.
Four adults and 2 children safely got out of the house and were taken in by neighbors, authorities said. Over 18 minutes, a total of 21 firefighters got the fire under control and were able to save the house.
Vancouver fire said the family will be displaced “for a considerable time” due to the heavy fire damage and water damage.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the shop fire is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s office.
