PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man is accused of choking a woman in a Portland care facility.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office said 57-year-old Roger Jones was seen on surveillance video going into the victim’s room twice before she was found unresponsive on May 17, 2019.

Employees found Huyen Cao, 46, and called 911, but she died there from strangulation.

When investigators asked Jones about the video, he admitted to choking Cao, the DA’s office said.

According to court documents, Jones has a history of convictions for burglary, forgery, theft, assault, escaping, attempted rape and abuse of a corpse.
