Jim Cowens’ first career was as a school teacher. After more than 30 years in the classroom, he traded in his lesson plans for a second career with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
As we approach the 50th anniversary of man walking on the Moon, Cowens talks to Ian Costello about how the Apollo 11 mission inspired a generation of school kids and changed the way we do everything from driving across bridges to hiking and camping in the Oregon wilderness.
Cowens also talks about how 400,000 people came together to send three men to the Moon and important lessons we all can learn about working together to accomplish amazing goals.
