Beaverton Naval Recruiter charged with sex crimes

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Beaverton man was arrested on Monday after Clackamas County deputies said he committed sex abuse against a minor he met during his role as a Naval Recruiter.

Sean William Kelly, 27, was lodged in Clackamas County Jail on charges of luring a minor, second-degree sex abuse, 2 counts of third-degree sexual abuse and sexual delinquency of a minor.

“I know typically recruiters will work with school districts to try and set up meetings,” Clackamas County Sgt. Brian Jensen said. “I don’t know how this specific introduction took place.”

Kelly’s bail is set at $75,000.

The alleged victim, according to Jensen, was enrolled in the North Clackamas School District. He also said Kelly was stationed in an office in Oregon City. The incident between Kelly and the minor happened back in early June.

Clackamas County said it’s not ruling out the possibility there could be other victims. Tips regarding interactions with Kelly can contact the Sheriff’s Office at (503) 723-4949 or by clicking this link.
