PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Deschutes County Courthouse was shut down for hours Monday morning after a bomb threat.

The sheriff’s office said a suspicious package was found near the entrance of the courthouse before 8 a.m. Investigators and the bomb squad determined it was a hoax device and was not explosive.

Shortly after 11 a.m., investigators released a photo of a man described as a “person of interest” in the case. The man wearing a wide-brimmed hat and large sunglasses was seen carrying a box in the area.

Streets were blocked off and people with court appearances or jury duty were rescheduled.
