Dozens of people gathered in downtown Portland and Beaverton

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Groups gathered at gun violence vigils in the Portland area on Wednesday in response to the recent deadly shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio.

A few dozen people attended a vigil in downtown Portland where organizers held a call-to-action to remember the immigrants killed in El Paso. They also urged others to help put a stop to hate.

The groups “Indivisible Cedar Mill” and “Indivisible Beaverton” said their message is that everyone can encourage lawmakers to pass stricter gun laws.
