GERVAIS, Ore. (KOIN) — Less than 24 hours after a major crash between two semi-trucks closed down southbound lanes of I-5, another crash closed northbound lanes Wednesday morning.
One person was taken to the hospital by LifeFlight after a crash between an SUV and a semi-truck near milepost 268, the Marion County Fire District said.
Oregon State Police said the semi crashed into the Chevy Tahoe, which was stopped on the shoulder.
The man driving the Tahoe — identified as 33-year-old J Ivan Aguilar-Dimas — had to be cut out of his vehicle.
The semi-truck driver — 57-year-old Carl Bibow — had minor injuries.
The Oregon Department of Transportation said I-5 north is closed at milepost 268 about four miles south of Woodburn.
