PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two people died in a collision in North Portland Wednesday morning, closing a busy area for hours.
The crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. in the area of North Going Street and North Greeley Avenue, Portland police said.
According to the initial investigation, a white sedan was driving south on Greeley Avenue when it crossed the center line and crashed into a gray SUV traveling north. The driver and passenger of the sedan died.
The two victims were later identified as 19-year-old Ana E. Moreno, and her passenger and sister, 15-year-old Kaylee D. Moreno Hernandez.
The SUV driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities said that driver was released and not cited.
Greeley Avenue was closed between Going Street and Interstate Avenue until around 1 p.m.
