Tillamook man killed in crash on Hwy 6

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Tillamook on Sunday.

The crash happened at 3:20 p.m. on Highway 6 at milepost 24, which falls near King's Mountain Trailhead. 

Oregon State Police say 33-year-old George Madsen IV of Tillamook was driving a 1996 Saturn westbound when it struck a 2006 Chrysler head on. 

Madsen died at the scene. Four people in the Chrysler were injured and taken to a hospital with serious injuries. 

Police later said a passenger in the van, Karen Mae Andrehsen, 62, from Warren, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
