PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A boy died on Thursday after the pickup truck he was in lost control and crashed.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. near milepost 3 on Logsden Road in Siletz.
According to the preliminary investigation, three minors were in the truck heading westbound when the driver lost control of the truck while negotiating a curve. The pickup truck left the road and one of the minors was ejected from the truck. Despite lifesaving efforts, he died at the scene.
Deputies added that the boy, whose age is unclear, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
The driver and other passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. They reported that they were wearing their seatbelts.
Logsden Road was closed for five hours following the crash.
