PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver attempted to pass a TriMet bus on Monday afternoon, but ultimately collided with another car that was making a right turn — and ended up on top of the other car.

The Subaru landed on top of the Honda at southbound Minter Bridge Road and Southeast Tualatin Valley Highway. The driver of the Subaru was attempting to illegally pass the bus while driving in the bike lane.

Police reported the Subaru’s tire shattered the passenger window and ended up in the cabin of the Honda.

SB Minter Bridge Road was closed for about an hour as the crash was cleared. Hillsboro PD said no one was injured.

“Patience prevents a lot of mishaps — this crash is one of them,” said Hillsboro PD. “Thankfully, no one was injured, but please take this as a reminder to slow down and be patient.”
