PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person was killed and 4 others injured in a 2-car crash that knocked down a power pole Friday afternoon near Tualatin.

The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. at SW Stafford Road and SW Newland Road in rural Clackamas County.

A 2006 Dodge Ram was traveling southbound on SW Stafford when it was struck by a 2015 Mercedes sedan traveling northbound on SW Newland, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the intersection has a posted stop sign.

The driver of the Ram pickup, identified as 65-year-old Gregory Edwin Frogner of Milwaukie, was killed. His passenger and the three 17-year-old boys in the Mercedes were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
