PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A child was killed in a 3-vehicle crash Wednesday in eastern Oregon’s Wallowa County.
A Ford F150 was traveling eastbound around a curve on SR-82 when the pickup crossed the center line and sideswiped an on-coming Subaru Outback, according to Oregon State Police.
The impact made the pickup move farther into the oncoming lane, where it hit a Dodge Ram pulling a trailer nearly head-on.
The 2 kids and adult driver inside the Ford (who were from La Grande) were taken to a hospital where one child was pronounced dead. The other child was airlifted to a hospital in Boise. The driver was treated for her injuries and released.
The 2 adults in the Subaru, who are from Portland, along with the 4 adults in the Dodge from California, were all unhurt.
SR-82 was closed for 5 hours while an investigation was carried out.
