Crash between pickup and ODOT snowplow kills 1, injures 2

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person died and two others were taken to the hospital after a truck collided with a snowplow in northeastern Oregon Saturday morning.

Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency responders were called out to Highway 3, south of Flora in Wallowa County, just after 8 a.m. A Dodge pickup truck lost control on a curve and crashed head-on into an Oregon Department of Transportation snowplow, according to the investigation’s early findings.

Police found the 24-year-old driver of the pickup, Dylan Denton, dead at the scene.

The 19-year-old passenger, Triston Denning, was taken to a hospital in a helicopter but the extent of his injuries has not been released. The ODOT driver, Monte Radford, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to OSP.

The stretch of road where the crash happened was closed for nearly 6 hours while the fatal incident was investigated, said OSP. The identities of the people involved are not being released until families can be notified.
