Driver killed, others wounded in Troutdale crash


PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A head-on crash Wednesday evening in Troutdale left one driver dead and another seriously hurt, deputies said. 

The crash happened around 5 p.m. in the 29400 block of Southeast Stark Street just south of the Stark Street Bridge. 

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office initially said the drivers of the 2 vehicles involved in the crash were seriously injured. 

However, officials later confirmed that the driver of a Toyota that flipped onto its roof was extricated by first responders but died at the scene. 

The driver of the other car, a Kia Soul, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Two other people in that driver’s car were also transported to a hospital to be checked.

Southeast Stark Street was closed for 5 hours between Southeast Kerslake and the Riverview Restaurant as officials carried out an investigation.
