PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A head-on crash Wednesday evening in Troutdale left one driver dead and another seriously hurt, deputies said.
The crash happened around 5 p.m. in the 29400 block of Southeast Stark Street just south of the Stark Street Bridge.
The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office initially said the drivers of the 2 vehicles involved in the crash were seriously injured.
However, officials later confirmed that the driver of a Toyota that flipped onto its roof was extricated by first responders but died at the scene.
The driver of the other car, a Kia Soul, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Two other people in that driver’s car were also transported to a hospital to be checked.
Southeast Stark Street was closed for 5 hours between Southeast Kerslake and the Riverview Restaurant as officials carried out an investigation.
