PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two separate crashes late Tuesday and early Wednesday landed 2 drivers behind bars in Washington County on DUII charges.
Around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, a white BMW crashed into a house in the 1800 block of SW Edgewood Court. By the time deputies arrived, the car was still in the house but the driver ran off.
A K9 team came to the scene and found Justin Casto hiding in the backyard of a home about a quarter-mile from the crash.
Investigators later learned Casto allegedly drove through a construction zone and nearly hit several workers before the crash. The 33-year-old faces charges of DUII, failing to perform the duties of a driver, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
Then shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, a Volkswagen Jetta crashed into a cinderblock wall near NW West Union and Laidlaw roads.
The driver of the Jetta, Matthias Biden, “was cooperative” but was arrested for DUII, criminal mischief and reckless driving. Authorities said his blood alcohol level was 0.189%, more than twice the legal limit.
