PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A car hit a person riding a scooter Wednesday evening in the Lents neighborhood.
The e-scooter crashed with a Ford Focus in the 10300 block of Southeast Foster Road.
Witnesses said the e-scooter crossed Foster Road without slowing down or using the pedestrian crosswalk signal, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The Focus was traveling eastbound and hit the e-scooter. The driver stayed at the scene and the e-scooter rider was taken to a hospital.
It’s unclear if anyone was cited in the crash or if the e-scooter rider sustained any serious injuries.
Video taken at the scene showed the car’s windshield smashed inward and the scooter trapped beneath the vehicle.
A helmet, bag and a single shoe were laying nearby on the sidewalk.
