PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The driver and only person inside a small truck was seriously injured Monday morning after colliding with a freight train in the Camas-Washougal area.

The truck was headed south on SE Whitney Street when it hit a westbound BNSF train, the Camas Police Department said.

It’s not clear what caused the crash, but officials said all the safety equipment near the railroad tracks was working at the time. No one on the train was hurt.

The investigation is ongoing.
