LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. (KOIN) — A truck driver escaped injury when the airbrakes released and the truck rolled backwards down a 50-foot embankment in Lake Oswego.
The truck was trying to cross Overlook by Hillside, officials with the Lake Oswego Fire Department told KOIN 6 News. While going up the hill the driver put the truck in lower gear, but when he stopped, the brakes released.
As the truck rolled backwards, the driver jumped out.
The truck went between 2 homes and didn’t hit any cars on Overlook, officials said.
Emergency responders at the scene said it will take most of Thursday afternoon to get the truck out, which will snarl traffic in the area.
