Extra crews were needed because of the heat

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Crews stopped a barn fire from spreading in Wilsonville Sunday afternoon.

Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue said a barn full of hay caught fire at a farm on Wilsonville Road near Edminston Road just after 2 p.m. on July 28.

Firefighter called for more help on their way when they saw a large plume of smoke in the distance.

The barn was partially collapsed when firefighter got there and they worked quickly to prevent it from catching other barns on fire.

They had to bring in water due to the rural area and extra firefighters due to the day’s heat.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital for a heat-related issue but will be OK.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
