PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man who allegedly spray-painted his own tag on an I-84 overpass and a storage unit in North Portland is now in jail awaiting charges for criminal mischief.

Investigators looking into the graffiti at the NE 42nd Avenue overpass and the U-Store Self Storage on N. Interstate Avenue connected the tag “M-O-O-K” to Marcus E. Gunther. The 30-year-old was arrested at SW 14th and Main on Thursday.

The clean-up at the I-84 overpass cost ODOT nearly $25,000, authorities said in a release.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who has M-O-O-K spray painted on their property should call Portland police at 503.823.3333.

Gunther faces charges of 1st- and 2nd-degree criminal mischief plus a probation violation.
