19 phones stolen, Portland postal worker arrested

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland police arrested a U.S. Postal Service employee accused of stealing new phones worth thousands of dollars.

Rico Manuel was stopped on Oct. 16 as he left the Northeast Portland Processing and Distribution Center.

Authorities said they found 19 stolen phones worth $13,000 during the stop.

The 23-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on one count of aggravated theft and 19 counts of mail theft.
