PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland police arrested a total of 3 men for street racing in Portland over the weekend, including 2 that had already been arrested for similar charges.

The suspects arrested were 21-year-olds Josiah Pittman and Noah Terry, along with 20-year-old Isiah Brown. All were arrested on reckless driving and reckless endangering charges.

Officers said Brown and Terry are both “repeat offenders.”

Brown was arrested for the same charges along with forgery in August. Terry was arrested back in May when he and 2 others were caught doing donuts in the middle of I-84 during what police refer to as the “Interstate 84 Takeover.”

Officers towed 2 cars this weekend in connection with street racing, as well.

Authorities have cracked down on street racing in recent months in an attempt to lower the number of crashes and educate the public on street racing’s potential deadly outcomes.

There have been 42 car-related fatalities this year already.
