PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Monday, October 7, marks the 6-year anniversary of the unsolved homicide of Donte Young. The Portland Police Bureau is once again asking for the public’s help in solving the north Portland man’s death.
On the afternoon of October 7, 2013, PPB officers were called out to the 9500 block of North Burr Avenue on the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Young dead. The 33-year-old had been shot in the head.
Witnesses interviewed at the time said a large group of people ran from the area before police showed up. Homicide detectives believe people in that group have information critical to their investigation, and are once again asking for those who were there on that day to come forward and talk to police.
Oregon Crime Stoppers has offered a cash reward up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest. Callers can remain anonymous. The tip line can be reached at 503.823.HELP (4357).
