61 horses rescued from Lane County farm, owner arrested

Photographs spurred an investigation

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Officials in Lane County rescued 61 severely neglected horses and arrested their owner on felony charges.

Gwenyth Davies was arrested Wednesday on charges of 2nd-degree animal neglect.

Officials said the investigation began on Oct. 16 when animal services received photographs of horses that appeared to be severely neglected. The images were provided by Emerald Valley Equine Rescue after it received complaints from people who used to board their horses with Davies.
