PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Just days after getting a tip, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Aloha High School teacher for allegedly sending sexually explicit photos and videos to a student.
Timothy Yee, who is now on leave from the school where he taught health and was the wrestling coach, is facing charges of luring a minor and using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct.
Deputies got a report Saturday about the photos and a detective identified the 30-year-old teacher as the suspect. He was arrested at his home in Beaverton on Wednesday.
But, officials said, at the time of the alleged crimes, Yee lived in Portland. So he’s being held in the Multnomah County Jail with bail set at $255,000, and his case will be prosecuted in Multnomah County.
Court documents obtained by KOIN 6 News revealed Yee has no previous record, is married and has a 6-day-old child. At the time he was arrested, Yee was on paternity leave. The alleged victim is a student at Aloha High School.
He’s expected to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
