Bear spray, loaded gun seized in SE Portland arrest


The suspect told officers he had the weapons to try to kill people like them, according to police

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police found a gun, a baton and bear spray during a Monday morning arrest in Southeast Portland.

Officers arrested 23-year-old Kainan Hansen near SE Martin Luther King Boulevard and SE Belmont Street. Officers said they found the weapons on Hansen during the arrest.

Hansen, who had an active warrant out for his arrest, told officers as they were arresting him that he wanted to fight them and had the weapons to try to kill people like them, according to the PPB.

Hansen was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm in public, unlawful possession of firearms, felon in possession of a firearm and a parole violation warrant.
