Burglars rob ATM, steal safe from Markum Inn in Molalla


The thieves broke in between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 3 a.m. Monday, deputies said

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A restaurant in Molalla was robbed and deputies are asking for help identifying the thieves.

Two or three people broke into the Markum Inn on South Highway 213 between 11:30 p.m. Sunday night and 3 a.m. Monday morning, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

Surveillance video showed the suspects pry open an ATM inside the restaurant, take the money inside and then steal a safe using a wagon from inside the business.

Deputies said the wagon was found on the property but the safe was gone.

The suspects were wearing hats, masks, coats and long pants. One of them was wearing a hat similar in style to a military or police hat.
