PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man has been charged with robbery after he threatened store employees with a knife on Sunday night.

Portland police officers responded to a call on the 400-block of NE Broadway at 6:40 p.m. As officers were en route to responding, they were notified that a citizen was following the robbery suspect, and that he was located in a parking lot a few blocks away. Police found the man matching the suspect description, who was identified as Lance Fluker, 55, of Portland.

Fluker had walked into a cell phone store and started stealing merchandise, said investigators. He then threatened an employee with a knife when they tried to stop him. Police also said he knocked an employee down during the confrontation.

Fluker was booked on a robbery charge, as well as an outstanding warrant, in the Multnomah County Detention Center.
