PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 43-year-old man allegedly went on an alcohol-fueled drive in Northeast Portland that left one woman in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Robert Dewayne Hannon is facing assault, DUII and reckless driving charges for the July 2 incident on Northeast Killingsworth.

Witnesses told authorities they saw a car driving recklessly, going about 50 miles per hour and nearly causing several crashes. The car eventually entered a parking lot where it smashed into multiple parked cars without slowing down.

A woman was pinned in her car and had to be extracted by first responders. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her condition was unknown as of Saturday morning.

Hannon tried and failed to drive away, according to a probable cause document. Officers at the scene said he had a blood alcohol content of .19%
