PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A former deputy in Marion County has been indicted on charges including theft, misconduct and tampering with evidence.
Sean Banks, a former deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, was originally arraigned in July of 2018 on charges of stealing 5 firearms during a death investigation in 2015.
The Marion County District Attorney’s Office said an ongoing criminal investigation uncovered more information that led a grand jury to return a 25 count indictment against Banks on Friday.
Banks was booked at the Linn County Jail on $200,000 bail. He’s due back in court on March 13.
