Surveillance video of April 16 crime just released

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Just released surveillance video shows a man with a distinctive walk literally breaking down the door of a Tualatin home and stealing guns, money and high-tech gear.

The video taken at about 2 p.m. on April 16, 2019, shows the man driving up to the house on SW Boones Ferry Road and parking his car for an easy getaway. He gets out, walks to the door and knocks on it. When there is no answer he literally kicks the door in, goes inside and comes out about 10 minutes later carrying 2 bags.

Those bags contained 2 guns, $1,000 in cash, laptops and high-end cameras.

He then stuffs them into the trunk of his car and drives off.

The couple who lives at the house wasn’t home at the time.

“From what we could tell he went right to the bedroom, knew there were valuables there in the nightstand, kept walking through the house and knew what he was looking for,” said Washington County Sheriff Deputy Brian Van Kleef.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the video Monday. Authorities said the white man is between 5-feet-10 and 6-0, was wearing a red shirt, black pants, black shoes and a baseball cap. It’s possible he has a noticeable limp. The car he was seen in was a beige-colored Saturn.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 503.846.2700.
