Killing of Donte Young remains unsolved

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — It’s been over five years since Donte Young was found dead in North Portland and to this day, no one has been arrested.

Portland police, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help solving the homicide.

On Oct. 7, 2013, officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 9500 block of North Burr Avenue. When they got on scene, they found the 33-year-old dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Officers talked with a number of witnesses and learned that a big group of people fled the are before police arrived. No one came forward, but police said those witnesses may have critical information in the case.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon offers cash rewards of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felon crime. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
