BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — A text message conversation with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl led to the arrest of a 30-year-old youth pastor.

Beaverton police said Ryan Mutchler was arrested on Sept. 7 after he texted an undercover detective posing to be a teen girl for several days. According to police, the texts showed his desires to have a sexual relationship with the girl.

Mutchler was booked into the Washington County Jail and charged with online sexual corruption of a minor and luring a minor.

Beaverton police were tipped off to Mutchler’s potential behavior by parents who monitored their child’s cell phone.

Mutchler was a youth pastor at Mountain Park Church in Lake Oswego and he also assisted with the Aloha High School marching band program on a short-term basis.

Authorities believe there are more victims given Mutchler’s work with minors.

Additional victims or anyone with information is asked to call 503.629.0111.
