Woman hit with skateboard on TriMet bus, man arrested


The woman was trying to stop the suspect from yelling at the driver

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman was attacked on a TriMet but after trying to stop a man from yelling at the driver.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office said Dustin Allen Wood, 40, got onto the bus near Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard and East Burnside on Oct. 9 and started yelling at the driver about the fare.

The woman tried to intervene and, “The next thing she knew she was bleeding all over the place and passengers were telling her she was struck with a skateboard,” according to a probable cause affidavit prepared by Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Eric Zimmerman.

Wood was arrested and has been charged with first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of interfering with public transportation. He is due in court Friday morning.
