Man arrested for gun during street racing mission


17 drivers were stopped during the North Portland misison

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver stopped during an illegal street racing mission was arrested for illegal firearm possession over the weekend.

Police said Enrique Magana, 47, was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded firearm. He was charged and released from jail.

There were 17 stops and 1 arrest during a now weekly street racing mission by Portland police. They are doing these missions each weekend to teach people about the dangers of racing.

Officers are also following up on 3 attempts to elude police during this North and Northeast Portland mission.

There have been 41 vehicular-related deaths in Portland this year.
