PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint was arrested Saturday morning by Portland Police.

George B. Brotherton, 58, was taken into custody after detectives served a search warrant at his home in the 2700 block of Southwest 1st Avenue, officers said.

In the early morning hours of July 5, Brotherton allegedly approached a woman walking near Southwest 4th Avenue and Southwest Grant Street, inappropriately touched her and threatened her with a knife.

The woman ran and called the police.

Brotherton was booked at the Multnomah County Jail on charges of 1st-degree sexual abuse, unlawful use of a weapon and coercion.

Detectives are working to figure out if Brotherton is linked to any other similar cases.
